≫ Protesting re-dispatch of troops to Afghanistan.

Members from the Preparation Committee of the Anti War Alliance for Peace (AWAP) consisting of 50 civic organizations hold up signboards that read, “Opposition against Re-dispatch of troopsto Afghanistan” during a press conference held at the People’s Solidarity for Participatory Democracy building located in Seoul’s Jongno district, Nov. 2.

Since Oct. 30 when the South Government announced its plan to re-dispatch troops to Afghanistan, civic and peace organizations have been busy conducting an anti-war campaign. The AWAP held a candlelight vigil demonstration to oppose the Lee administration policy at Myung-dong, Oct. 31.

An official of AWAP says it will be holding various types of demonstrations to stop the re-dispatch of troops to Afghanistan.
